UNIQUE WOMAN’S COALITION CELEBRATES 18TH ANNUAL TRANSGIVING DINNER

Unique Woman’s Coalition (UWC) will hold its 18th annual TransGiving Dinner on Wednesday, November 21st, 5PM-8PM at LA Celebrations Banquet Halls at 2969 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, 90010.

The UWC’s TransGiving Dinner is an annual transgender thanksgiving dinner, an event that hosts a full course traditional holiday dinner, a safe social environment for trans-identified and gender non-conforming community members, allies and their loved ones.  It is a cherished tradition during a time when trans and GNC people may feel disenfranchised and miss their families.

The evening will feature live entertainment, access to resources and of course community and allies. This year’s TransGiving Dinner is sponsored by Trans Wellness Center, Flux and CHIPTS. It is funded by Net County Costs, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Division of HIV and STD Programs for PHE-VP Services.

Between November 12 through November 19, individuals and organizations around the country will participate in Transgender Awareness Week to help raise the visibility of transgender and gender non-conforming people, and address the issues the community faces. Also, after Transgender Awareness Week is Transgender Day of Remembrance, an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
